Paint the walls with a splash of color or pattern—Change the upholstery of your grandmothers old dinning chair to a raspberry or leopard-print , play with accents to add a bit of surprise to any spot in the house, like using wallpaper.

Urban chic is a combination of vintage and contemporary styles.

Accessories

Typically include dark wood, rich neutral colors, glass and metal. Lines are smooth, spaces are open and uncluttered and vintage does not mean lace and floral patterns.

Shabby chic design is elegant but inviting – - worn, faded fabrics; furniture with chipping paint, scratches and smooth, worn finishes; and, vintage paintings, vases and lamps. Shabby chic design colors are neutral and when patterns are used, they are typical understated, romantic floral patterns. White, beige and pastels that look worn, faded and used cover furniture and tables.

Painting Brick

Mix a gold metallic shimmer paint (Ralph Lauren) in with desired color and repaint the brick wall. It leaves a very suble look that is shimmery and gorgeous when struck by light.

Succulents/ Plants in the Home

Succulents have shallow roots so they don’t need deep containers. Try them in shallow containers and don’t forget that succulents don’t mind being squished together in a pot!

Plant life is essential! Plants need clean the air, humidify and invigorate the energy within your home, not to mention the fact that they look good. Here are a few plants that will grow in low light and which are also extremely hardy:

* Dracaena ‘Janet Craig’

Using bottles of varying heights, shapes, or colors can make the same flower take on a hundred different looks. We like the whimsy that the variety creates.

To create an eclectic country garden inside combine multiple flower types in simple vessels from around the home. The casual beauty of this type of arrangement is all about the happy clash.

The BEST wedding trend on the planet is to infuse your day with details that truly reflect your personality….no matter what tradition may say.

• Choose two colors you love and build your décor scheme from there. Your flowers, tableware, and even the drinks you serve can build on this central two-color combo.

• Keep it simple.. Think about what you’re serving: Do you really need two sizes of spoons, or a salad fork? For a casual party, you can keep glasses on a self-service bar so that the initial table is clean and uncluttered.

• Try a DIY garland. Hanging something from the ceiling immediately makes a space feel more festive.

• Stick with low centerpieces. There’s nothing worse than sitting at a dinner party where you can only see half the people at the table. Tall flower arrangements can be gorgeous, and they look great on a bar or side table, but for your centerpieces, consider something low and lush.

Talk about an intimate affair… The setting of the Gramercy Hotel garden rooftop is so lush and simply awesome with their overgrown plants, and, of course, the ceiling of hanging light bulbs – such a nice contrast to the rooms surroundings.  We were so excited to work with this space. The Chuppah was our favorite, made out of bamboo poles, rosemary and white peonies.  We just loved the simplicity of it all and the stunning bride underneath certainly made the picture complete.

The dining tables were lined with a gorgeous tuscan spread using candlelight, floral and fresh herbs.  We love working with long dining tables as it allows us to design using various elements at one time.

The overall feel was romantic, warm and simply lovely. The weather could not have been more picture perfect for the glowing bride & dapper groom. Congratulations Ross and Thanh!

We we were so excited to work at the Allen Room at the Jazz Center.  The views are just so stunning overlooking Central Park and Columbus Circle.  Mostly, we loved the idea we conceptualized for this fundraising event. It was just so pleasing all around.

Guests are greeted by a mix of modern arrangements of burgundy cali lilies, parrot tulips and dendrobuim orchids.

Our favorite was the bar arrangement…the colors…the way it “swoosed”… gorgeous.  The piece comprised of floating dendrobuim orchids floating aside yellow orchids.

The cocktail tables had yellow dendrobuim orchids with yellow pin cushions in a leaf wrapped vase.

We used unique structures of manzanita branches, adorned with whisping oncidium orchids and lush coral peonies.  These pieces alternated with lovely floral arrangements, using similar elements.

The tones and textures of hyacinths, tulips, flowering branches (forsythia or cherry blossoms) will be paired with herbs to refresh your senses. You will walk away with your own made floral pieces in an eco-chic container and tote bags. The class generally lasts for 2 hours.

WEDDING WORK (INTRO) –It take skills to learn how make a bridal bouquet, boutonnière, corsages and flower girl pieces. You will learn this talent only in two hours and get enjoy the pieces that you have created.  At times like this, the best part of saving money is when you can “do it yourself” for friends and family.

FLORAL COUTURE (landscape style) – This current trend is the “IT”  style for all  event’s floral centerpieces.  We will work with organic materials such as  succulents, moss, wood bark, Manzanita branches and river stones. You will learn to complement them with classic flowers like local hydrangeas, colorful tulips, and sumptuous peonies.
